Dear EISB Community,
I want to bring to your attention a few new online classes that are starting to be offered at Yale this year!
The following three online classes are completely free and students may enroll in them to advance their knowledge in a variety of ways, as well as to boost their CV and enhance their university applications:
‘The Science of Well-Being for Teens‘
“Did you know 37% of teens say they have poor mental health? Dr. Laurie Santos aims to combat that with her new course. As a continuation of Coursera’s #1 course, the Science of Well-Being, Dr. Santos is excited to share her expertise with adolescents”. (From the course website)
“Learn how to get the most out of life. The Connected Leadership course taught by Peter Boyd is designed to help you confirm your Purpose, clarify your Priorities, visualize your Potential, and hold you and others accountable for more Progress than you thought possible.” (From the course website)
“Narrative Economics is the study of economic change due to changes in the way people think. The vast majority of people change the way they think because of changing narratives, tellable stories with morals, not by looking at data, equations, or diagrams. Most economists don’t study this but it is all but assured that mass changes in thinking patterns are driven by narratives that “go viral” and become part of the public consciousness. Professor Shiller, proposes studying these narratives — stories — is the most important thing we can do now to improve economic forecasts, inform major economic decisions and understand economic events.” (From the YouTube trailer description)
You can watch a trailer for new the course on YouTube, here.
“Commit yourself to lifelong learning. The most valuable asset you’ll ever have
is your mind and what you put into it.”
